In an apocalyptic tale that parallels reality, The Passage centers a high prestige research facility seeking a single vaccine for all the world’s diseases. These research doctors find themselves on track after a simple event years ago, and their unreluctant next step brings us to our protagonist, Amy Bellafonte (played by Saniyya Sidney), a ten-year-old child, who is, as the show determines, an untraceable, unwanted, and unknown child. Bellafonte has a tumultuous experience in this first episode that leads her from feeling alone in the world to slowly starting to open up as she meets agent Brad Wolgast (played by Mark-Paul Gosselaar), who is initially tasked to retrieve her. This new spin on the vampiric lore is the perfect balance of action, adventure, drama, and sci-fi.

[Review] Black Lightning 01×01 ‘Pilot’

I wrote a review on my Tumblr blog already, but I will fluff it out and add some other comments. It will all be under the cut, but first of all, I want to say that Black Lightning is a much needed show, and it was about time that there was a show dedicated to black superhero family that didn’t focus on light skin or high yellow black women with brown skin or dark skin black male counterparts. Also, that included a wlw character in the family because, guess what, black queer people exist, and we are everywhere. We are the ones creating and maintaining black culture. We’re the ones dying for existing. We’re the ones putting in work. We’re the ones bettering ourselves. List of upcoming albums of 2018

I wanted to have a list of artists to remember to check out for 2018, both artists I love and artists whom are new to me. I forget about all the great artists out there worth checking out, so I wanted to have a concise article that included all of them, and I wanted to share my interest with my readers. Some of these albums and pre-releases I’ve heard already while others are new to me and expectant. I wanted to make clear that this is an album-only list. Singles, mini-albums, and extended plays are only mention if they are pre-releases. I’ll update this article periodically. The format is (YYYY.MM.DD)
